Davis Materials for February Doily: Size 10 cotton crochet thread - approx. 140 yds Victory Red, New Ecru or desired color; size 6 (1.8 mm) steel crochet hook (I used a Boye hook) OR Size Needed for Gauge (see Center #1 for Gauge) . Finished Size: About 13" across at widest points after washing and blocking . Special Stitches for this Doily: In addition to Special Stitches for Center Picot (p) - ch 3, sl st in front loop and front vertical bar of st just made Picot 2 (p2) - ch 3, sc in front loop and front vertical bar of sc just made Treble Picot (trp) - ch 4, tr in front loop and front vertical bar of st just made Treble Picot 2 (trp2) - ch 6, sl st in 4th ch from hook, ch 2, tr in front loop and front vertical bar of last tr made . Notes: Doily may "ruffle" somewhat until washed and blocked If desired, you may omit Picots on Rnds 12 and 17 (as shown in Ecru) . . Work Center #1 ending Rnd 8 as for Rnd 7, then continue as follows: . RND 9: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 5, sc in next ch-5 lp, ch 2, (tr, ch 2) 4 times in next ch-5 lp**, sc in next ch-5 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. (8 ch-5 lps, 32 tr, 40 ch-2 sps) .
