Davis Materials for July Doily: Size 10 cotton crochet thread - approx 17 yds True Blue and approx 30 yards Victory Red PLUS Materials as stated in pattern for Basic Center . Gauge: Same as for Basic Center . Finished Size: About 7" across at widest points after washing and blocking . Special Stitches for this Doily: In addition to Special Stitches for Basic Center Picot (P) - ch 3, sc in front loop and front vertical bar of st just made . Note: Doily may "ruffle" somewhat until completed and blocked . . With True Blue, work Rnds 1 - 5 of Basic Center, then Rnds 6 - 8. . RND 9: sl st in next ch and into ch-5 lp (this gets you in proper position), (ch 1, sc) in same lp, ch 5, (sc in next ch-5 lp, ch 5) around, join with sl st in top of first sc. (20 sc, 20 ch-5 lps) . RND 10: sl st into ch-5 lp, ch 4 (counts as first dc and 1 ch), in same lp work, [dc, (ch 1, dc) 2 times], *dc in next ch-5 lp, (ch 1, dc) 3 times in same lp*, rep from * to * around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4. (80 dc, 60 ch-1 sps) . RND 11: sl st into ch-1 sp, (ch 1, sc) in same sp, * ch 1, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, sk next 2 dc**, sc in next ch-1 sp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. Fasten Off White. (40 dc, 40 sc, 20 ch-3 sps, 20 ch-2 sps) . RND 12: join Victory Red with sc in any ch-3 sp (between dc sts), (ch 3, sc) in same sp, *ch 1, (tr, ch 1) 3 times in next ch-2 sp**, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 sp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. (60 tr, 20 ch-3 lps) . RND 13: sl st into ch-3 lp, ch 4 (counts as first dc and 1 ch), in same lp work, [dc, ch 2, (dc, ch 1) 2 times], *sk next tr, sc in next tr, sk next tr**, in next ch-3 lp work [(ch 1, dc) 2 times, ch 2, (dc, ch 1) 2 times]*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, ch 1, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4. Fasten Off Victory Red. (80 dc, 80 ch-1 sps, 20 ch-2 sps) . RND 14: join White with sc in any ch-2 sp (between dc sts), (ch 3, sc) in same sp, *ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next sc, ch 2, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1**, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-2 sp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. (40 ch-1 sps, 40 ch-2 sps, 20 ch-3 lps) . RND 15: sl st into ch-3 lp, (ch 1, sc) in same lp, *ch 4, sk ch-1 sp, dc in each of next 2 ch-2 sps**, ch 4, sk ch-1 sp, sc in ch-3 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, ch 1, dc in top of first sc to join and form last lp. (40 dc, 40 ch-4 lps, 20 sc) . RND 16: ch 1, sc in lp just made, ch 5, (sc in next ch-4 lp, ch 5) around, join with sl st in top of first sc. Fasten Off White. (40 ch-5 lps) . RND 17: join Victory Red with sc in any ch-5 lp, (ch 6, sc in next ch-5 lp) around, ch 2, tr in top of first sc to join and form last lp. (40 ch-6 lps) . RND 18: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 1, in next ch-6 lp work, [2 tr, (P, 2 tr) 3 times], ch 1**, sc in next ch-6 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc.
