Davis Materials for June Doily: Size 10 cotton crochet thread - Approx. 160 yds Bridal Blue (or desired color); size 6 (1.8 mm) steel crochet hook (I used a Boye hook) OR Size Needed for Gauge (see Center #3 pattern for Gauge) . Finished Size: About 15" at widest points after washing and blocking . Special Stitches for this Doily: In addition to Special Stitches for Center Double Treble (dtr) - yo 3 times, insert hook in st or sp indicated, draw loop through, (yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) 4 times Picot (p) - ch 3, sc in front loop and front vertical bar of dc just made Picot loop (plp) - ch 7, sl st in 4th ch from hook, ch 3 . . Work Center #3 ending Rnd 6 as for Rnd 5, then continue as follows: . Rnd 7: ch 1, sc in lp just made, (ch 9, sc in next ch-7 lp) around, ch 4, dtr in first sc to join and form last lp. (20 ch-9 lps) . Rnd 8: ch 1, sc in lp just made, ch 11, (sc in next ch-9 lp, ch 11) around, join with sl st in top of first sc. (20 ch-11 lps) . Rnd 9: sl st in next 2 chs, ch 1, sc in in lp, *(ch 3, sc in same lp) 3 times**, sc in next ch-11 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. (60 ch-3 lps) . Rnds 10 & 11: sl st in next ch-3 lp, ch 1, sc in same lp, ch 3, (sc in next ch-3 lp, ch 3) around, join with sl st in top of first sc. (60 ch-3 lps) . Rnd 12: sl st in next ch-3 lp, ch 1, sc in same lp, (ch 4, sc in next ch-3 lp) around, ch 1, dc in top of first sc to join and form last ch-4 lp. (60 ch-4 lps) . Rnd 13: ch 1, sc in lp just made, (ch 4, sc in next ch-4 lp) around, ch 1, dc in first sc to join and form last lp. (60 ch-4 lps) . Rnd 14: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 3, (dc, p, dc) in next ch-4 lp, ch 3**, sc in next ch-4 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. (60 dc, 60 ch-3 sps, 30 p, 30 sc) . Note: For matching smaller doily (about 8¼" across), Fasten Off at end of Rnd 14 and weave in ends. For larger doily, continue with Rnds 15 - 25. . Rnd 15: ch 14 (counts as first dtr and 9 chs), (dtr in next sc, ch 9) around, join with sl st in 5th ch of beg ch-14. (30 dtr, 30 ch-9 sps) . Rnd 16: ch 1 sc in same st as joining, *ch 5, sc in ch-9 sp**, ch 5, sc in next dtr*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, ch 2, dc in top of first sc to join and form last ch-5 lp. (60 ch-5 lps) . Rnds 17 & 18: ch 1, sc in lp just made, (ch 5, sc in next ch-5 lp) around, ch 2, dc in top of first sc to join and form last ch-5 lp. (60 ch-5 lps) . Rnd 19: ch 1, sc in lp just made, (ch 6, sc in next ch-5 lp) around, ch 2, tr in top of first sc to join and form last ch-6 lp. (60 ch-6 lps) . Rnds 20 - 22: ch 1, sc in lp just made, (ch 7, sc in next lp) around, ch 3, tr in top of first sc to join and form last ch-7 lp. (60 ch-7 lps) . Rnd 23: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 2, tr in next ch-7 lp, (ch 1, tr in same lp) 6 times, ch 2, sc in next ch-7 lp**, (ch 7, sc in next ch- 7 lp) 3 times*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, (ch 7, sc in next ch-7 lp) 2 times, ch 3, tr in top of first sc to join and form last ch-7 lp. (84 tr, 36 ch-7 lps) . Rnd 24: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, (ch 1, 2 tr in next tr) 6 times, ch 2, sc in next ch-7 lp**, (ch 7, sc in next ch- 7 lp) 2 times*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, ch 7, sc in next ch-7 lp, ch 3, tr in top of first sc to join and form last ch-7 lp. (168 tr, 24 ch-7 lps) . Rnd 25: ch 1, sc in lp just made, *ch 2, [(tr in next tr, ch 1) 2 times, tr in next tr, p, tr in next tr, ch 1] 3 times, tr in next tr, ch 1, tr in next tr, ch 2, sc in next ch-7 lp, plp**, sc in next ch-7 lp*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc.
