Basic Center for the Little Beauties!

Designer's Note: I'll be using SouthMaid thread for all these doilies, unless otherwise noted on the individual patterns.  Finished Sizes will range from about 6" to about 8" and will be stated with each pattern, along with any additional Special Stitches.
.
Materials for Each Doily:
Size 10 cotton crochet thread - approx. 20 - 30 yds of color stated on individual pattern page AND approx. 50 - 60 yds of White (per doily); size 7 (1.65mm) steel hook (I'm using a Boye hook) OR Size Needed for Gauge.
.
Gauge:
RNDS 1 - 3 of Basic Center = 1½" across
.
Special Stitches:
V-Stitch (V-st) - (dc, ch 1, dc) in st or sp indicated
V-Stitch in V-Stitch (V-st in V-st) - work V-st in ch-1 sp of next V-st
.
Notes:
I'm working these doilies somewhat tightly. For Best Results, you may also wish to work fairly tight or use a smaller hook if necessary.
Because many crocheters (myself included!) tend to work sc sts a little tighter than taller sts (dc, tr, etc.), Rnds 6 & 7 may cause center to "cup" slightly, but doilies will lay flat when they're washed and blocked.

With color stated in pattern, ch 5, join with sl st in first ch to form ring.
