This is a Very Simple, yet Elegant doily design! I've received Many, Many E-mails from people who tell me how much they enjoy this Quick, Easy pattern! NOTE: This pattern is provided free of charge. Thank You! :o) Materials: Approx. 150 yds size 10 cotton crochet thread (J&P Coats' Old Fashioned in Cream used for sample); size 5 (1.9mm) steel hook (I used a Boye hook) OR Size Needed for Gauge. . Gauge: Rnds 1 - 3 = 2" across . Finished Size: About 12" across at widest points after washing and blocking . Special Stitches: V Stitch (V-st) - (dc, ch 1) 2 times in st indicated Picot (P) - ch 3, sl st in front loop and front vertical bar of st just made Triple Picot (P3) - ch 3, sl st in Back Ridge [see Hints page] of 3rd ch from hook, ch 5, sl st in same st as last sl st, ch 3, sl st in same st as last sl st . NOTES: Ch-4 at beginning of each Rnd counts as first dc and 1 ch All Rnds will be joined as for Rnd 1 unless otherwise stated Doily may "ruffle" somewhat until washed and blocked . . Begin with ch 5, sl st in first ch to form ring. . Rnd 1:ch 4, (dc, ch 1) 7 times into ring, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-4. (8 dc and 8 ch 1 sps) . Rnd 2:ch 4, (dc, ch 1) in same place as joining, V-st in each dc around, join. (8 V-sts) . Rnd 3:ch 4, V-st in next dc, *(dc, ch 1) in next dc, V-st in next dc*, repeat from * to * around, join. . Rnd 4:ch 4, (dc, ch 1) in next dc, V-st in next dc, *(dc, ch 1) in each of next 2 dc, V-st in next dc*, repeat from * to * around, join. . Rnds 5 - 20:ch 4, *(dc, ch 1) in each dc to next V-st, (dc, ch 1) in first dc of V-st, V-st in next dc*, repeat from * to * around, join. . Special Note: Triple Picot will be worked in the ch-1 sp of each V-st . Rnd 21:ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next ch-1 sp, P, *(sc in each of next 2 dc and 2 ch-1 sps, P), across to dc just before next V-st, sc in each of next 2 dc and 2 ch-1 sps, P3*, repeat from * to * around, sc in next dc and in next ch-1 sp, join with sl st to first sc.
