This motif is a re-working of my Torch Star doily. It was suggested to me that this would make a Great Tablecloth motif! I agreed and went to work on the re-designing to make it suitable for this purpose! NOTE: This pattern is provided free of charge. You may print One copy for your own personal use. PLEASE Do Not post this pattern or photo on any web page, message board or to any E-mail lists. However, Please Do feel free to post the URL for the main page - http://pandacrochet.8m.com/ - so others may come to see and enjoy all the patterns I have to offer! Thank You! :o) PLEASE NOTE: I have not yet made a Tablecloth with this motif, however, the pattern should work up properly. No outer border is necessary! If you have any Questions or Comments, feel free to E-mail me! :o) . Materials: Approx. 50 yds size 10 cotton crochet thread for each motif (I used Grandma's Best by Caron in Ecru); size 4 (2.0mm) steel hook (I used a Boye hook) OR Size Needed for Gauge. . NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that the motifs may tend to "cup" slightly, but should lay flat when finished tablecloth is washed and blocked . . FIRST MOTIF: . Begin with ch 5, sl st in first ch to form ring. . RND 1: ch 4 (counts as first tr), tr in ring, ch 2, (2 tr in ring, ch 2) 5 times, join with sl st in top of beg ch-4. (12 tr, 6 ch-2 sps) . RND 2: beg shl, ch 1, (shl in next ch-2 sp, ch 1) 5 times, join with sl st in top of ch-4. (6 shls) . Note: All Rnds will be joined the same as RND 2 unless otherwise stated. . RND 8: beg shl, *ch 5, sk ch-2 sp, trcl, ch 3, tr in next tr, V-st in ch-1 sp, tr in next tr, ch 3, trcl, ch 5, sk ch-2 sp**, shl in shl*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join. (6 shls, 6 V-sts, 12 tr, 12 trcls) . RND 9: beg shl, *ch 3, tr in ch-5 sp, ch 3, tr in trcl, ch 5, trcl (skipping ch-1 sp between 2nd & 3rd tr sts), ch 5, tr in trcl, ch 3, tr in ch-5 sp, ch 3**, shl in shl*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join. (6 shls, 24 tr, 6 trcls) . RND 10: sl st in next tr and into ch sp, (ch 1, 2 sc, ch 5, 2 sc) in same sp, *ch 7, sk ch-3 sp, sc in next tr, (ch 7, sk next st, sc in next ch-5 sp) 2 times, ch 7, sk ch-3 sp, sc in next tr, ch 7**, (2 sc, ch 5, 2 sc) in ch-2 sp of next shl*, rep from * to * around ending last rep at **, join with sl st in top of first sc. Fasten Off. Weave in ends. (48 sc, 6 ch-5 lps, 30 ch-7 lps) . . SECOND AND REMAINING MOTIFS . To join on one "side", work as for first motif through Rnd 9. Work first repeat of Rnd 10 (up to 2nd corner), then join next "side" by replacing center ch of next corner ch-5 lp, ch-7 lps and next corner ch-5 lp with a sc in corresponding loop of first motif. Complete Rnd 10 as usual. . Alternate Joining - Since there are 5 ch-7 lps on each "side", you may wish to reduce the # of joinings by working them in only the 2nd and 4th (or 1st, 3rd and 5th) loops on each "side". . To join on 2 or more "sides", work as for above making corner joinings around sc of previous corner joining as needed and continue the joining on each "side" as needed. When all joining "sides" are done, complete Rnd 10 as usual. . Continue making and joining motifs until your Tablecloth is desired size. . . Wash and Block Tablecloth, pinning to shape as needed or desired. . Feel Free to E-mail me with any comments or questions regarding this pattern! :o) |
